Erringtonās Learning
Services team offers a variety of programs for students in our school.
The Learning
Skills
Program is designed for
students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), while the
Learning Assistance
Program
is for other students
whoās teachers feel they could use a bit of support with their reading, writing
or mathematics. We also offer Enrichment /
Challenge Programs for both primary and
intermediate students, and a Leadership Service
Club
for interested grade five
students. The Early Reading
Program
offers support to grade
one and two students who need a bit of a boost with their reading skills in
their early years.
Referral to one of these programs is initiated by
classroom teachers, in consultation with the studentās parents. This referral
is forwarded to our school-based team, which is made up of: our administrators,
support teachers, counselor, speech and language pathologist, and first nationās
liaison worker. This team meets with your childās teacher to decide what type
support we can offer to best meet the needs of the student who has been
referred.
